Chapter Eight

Savannah

My face was plastered against the marble walls of Colt’s shower as he fucked me under a warm waterfall. Water sprayed through his blond hair, and big drops clung to his long lashes. Every muscle in his body pulsed and flexed as he manhandled me under the deluge.

I was falling.

I was succumbing.

Everything I said I’d never do if I saw him again, I was doing.

But how could I expect myself not to? Oh, how I’d missed this – the way he dominated me. The way he owned me. No other man had been able to do it the way he could. In college, he’d been my release. I’d always been anxious about assignments, tests, and tuition fees. Now, I was a grown-ass woman, but I still had a shitload of responsibilities. Monitoring the girls took work. Making sure they didn’t get beaten and arrested took mental energy. Colt said he’d seen my throne, but did he know how much effort it took to run a kingdom?

With Colt, I’d never had to worry about anything but being pleasured. And then he’d made that dumb-ass mistake. Just when I was getting accustomed to the idea of him being my Cowboy King, my one and only, he’d gone and done that shit.

Thoughts of our conversation rang in my mind. He’d told me the story about his father’s love of women and the way his mother had stood by her husband’s side until she just couldn’t do it anymore.

I didn’t want to be her. My mama had raised me better than that. I hadn’t considered what my leaving him would have done to his emotions. In the moment, it was the last thing I’d cared about, and up until now, I’d never seen Colt so weak and vulnerable.

Mama, I’m sorry. I’ll apologize a million times for my behavior...

“Oh Colt...” I was moaning, out of control.

His dick rocked me until I reached ecstasy. I tried to grip something, but my hands slid down the wet walls. I tried to quell my screams, but it was useless. My drenched curls splayed everywhere, and I pressed my ass against him as he delivered a final, powerful thrust.

Colt grunted and followed me to heaven.

The shower ended, only after Colt lathered me up until I was good and soapy. He detached the showerhead from the wall and rinsed me off.

Mmm, it felt so good.

Then, he dressed me. I’d bought a pair of jean shorts and a crop top. He slid the shirt over my mop of curls and eased the material over my uncovered breasts, then he bent down and pulled the shorts up my legs.

They shook.

“You good, mama?” he grinned.

I rolled my eyes at him and smiled.

We ventured to his stable. He said he wanted to show me something in there. His property was huge. No wonder he said he didn’t need to finish college. It had been nothing more than an experience for him. Colt was country, but perhaps his daddy had wanted him to get more exposure.
